dental dreams (again)

January 9, 2008

i haven’t had a dream i’ve remembered in a long time, but i woke up last night at 2am to kitty noises, right in the middle of this one:

i had a dentist apointment.  i drove to the office building, the parking lot was huge and empty, pavement bordered by cobblestone.  i parked my car and went up to the door, it was wide open with a set of keys in the doorknob.  there were two letters, stamped and waiting for the mailman.  i walked in, the only person in the building was a girl that i went to high school with, but didn’t really know.  i got to the suite, but the door was locked, a note on the door said that the dentist was working out of another office for the day.  when i left the building a party was being set up in the parking lot.  i drove to the other office, with the keys from the front door and the letters.

when i got to the other office the parking lot was packed, i fianally parked and went inside.  my boss was the recepionist (but somehow still my boss even in the dream) she got all mad at me for taking the keys and letters from the other office, i argued that i couldn’t just leave them there for anyone to take.  she gave me that look she gives when she knows i’m right but doesn’t want to admit it.

i woke up.

“i drove to the office building, the parking lot was huge and empty, pavement bordered by cobblestone.”
I thought you guys called it a “sidewalk”?

That dream is very telling…. which is odd really, because I thought dreams never really related to real life. I mean, if you were subconciously worrying about work you’ld probably dream about being a blackberry living on Jupiter or something that seems totally unrelated to anything to do with life.

we do call sidewalks “sidewalks.” but this was not a sidewalk, it would be better described as a decorative border.
