christmas questions

1. Wrapping or gift bags? wrapping . . . i love it.
2. Real or artificial tree?  none, we have a small place and two cats.
3. When do you put up the tree?  if we did it would wait until december.
4. When do you take the tree down?  well, my parents wait until the weekend after valentine’s day . . . but that’s another story.
5. Do you like eggnog? I.  LOVE.  EGGNOG.  can’t get enough of the stuff, to keep the calorie count down we have been drinking “silk” brand soy-nog the last few years, and a little rum dose’t hurt either.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? a stuffed toy made to resemble a potato(“coleco couch potato”), i think i was ten. 
7. Do you have a nativity scene? no.
8. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?  oh, there have been so many.  maybe the worst was a wall hook made of brass in the shape of a boar, i was 13.
9. Mail or email Christmas cards? mail, but very few.
10. Favorite Christmas movie? A Christmas Story.
11. When do you start shopping for Christmas? when i see or think of something that would make a great gift, it could be a few days before christmas, or it could be june.
12. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? i try to hold back . . . cookies are not really a favorite, chips and dip are always fantastic, i am more of a foodie at thanksgiving.
13. Clear lights or colored? clear (please god, clear).
14. Favorite Christmas song? eagle bows (i could not pronounce “jingle bells” as a young child, and it has stuck).
15. Travel at Christmas or stay at home? stay home.
16. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? i won’t even try.  but i bet liz could . . .
17. Angel or star on the top of your tree? if we had a tree it would be a star.
18. Open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?  liz and i opened our presents last week.
19. Most annoying thing about this time of year?  christmas decorations in public or christmas songs on the radio before december first.
20. What do you leave for Santa? who??
21. Least favorite holiday song? list would be too long.  i love the traditional classics though.
22. Do you decorate your tree with any specific theme or color?  i would if we had one, i am obsessive.
23. Favorite ornament?  a wreath made of jingle bells, we leave it up all year we love it so much.
24. Family tradition?
25. Ever been to Midnight Mass or late-night Christmas Eve services? used to go every year, but since my parents moved away no we don’t have time because they come to our house on christmas eve.

    Donner and Blitzen

    *I had to sing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to myself to get it right!
