bedtime reading

December 18, 2007

liz and i started a little thing a few years ago, we read out loud to each other in bed.  sometimes liz reads, but usually it’s me.  we will pick fun books, we have read almost all of augustine burroughs, and david sadaris, anything that will make us laugh.  well, liz got her hands on a few copies of nancy drew books that no one else wanted, so nancy is our newest bedtime read.

we are currently on chapter xii of “nancy drew and the secret of the wooden lady.”

liz is sure the big secret must be that captain easterly is the wooden lady.  meanwhile i am left wondering “how did nancy drew live long enough to solve all these mysteries?  she really lives on the edge.”  maybe tonight we will find out if “old grizzle face” really was the mysterious stowaway on the clipper ship.  i’ll let you all know how it ends.
