six random things

i was tagged by guitargirlRN.  here it is:

1. i have an issue with chronic lateness. yep, i am late to work almost every day by 5-15 minutes.  sometimes it makes me feel really guilty, like the other morning when one of the medical assistants had to call 911, but i was not there to help.  as a child and teen i was always aggravated by my mother’s lateness, and swore i would never be the same, but i am (just not as bad).  in order to be at work on time i have to “act” like i am going in a half-hour early, then i make it with 5 or 10 minutes to spare.  the thing about my lateness is just that i like to be sleeping, and at home.  liz and i have different work schedules so we don’t get to spend much time together and often i end up staying up until midnight just talking to liz, when i need to be out of bed at 7:00 to get to work on time.
2. i have an obsession with food. i love to think about food, talk about food and, unfortunately, eat food.  a lot.  there are certain foods, that when i get them suck in my head, i just have to eat them.  it could be a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich or sushi, or one of 8,000,000,000 other things.  when i want it i want it and i will not stop thinking about it until i eat it.  this is why dieting does not work for me.
3. my closet is scanty. i don’t have tons of clothing, sometimes i will wear the same pair of pants a few days in a row.  i am in desperate need of tops, and i have more summer clothes than winter clothes because i can’t stand the heat.
4. i swear too much at work. the f-word makes it way out of my mouth too many times a day.  maybe even one time is too many.
5. kitties melt my little heart. i always thought that “cat-ladies” were people to make fun of . . . now i am a cat-lady.   we have two perfect and cute cats, i had cats when i was growing up and i loved them to pieces, but they had to stay outside because my father was very allergic.  my first cats were “speckles” and “meowsers,”  then i lived with my boss for a couple years and he has two cats “henry” and “prudence,” now liz and i have “bentley” and “mia.”  when i lived with my boss i got to be very attached to henry, who seemed to adore me because i found him after a fishercat ripped him a new asshole and he almost bled to death on the driveway, he might think that i saved his life.  one of the motivating factors to us moving out of our apartment and buying a place was so that we could get kittens, liz did not think she could ever love them as much as she does.  now there is a big gray cat that wonders around out back, he is huge, with giant kitty-chops and long fur, he has a bald patch on his tail that made me cry.  my newest thing is befriending this stray.
6. i think that i would love to be a housewife. i joke that liz and i would fight over who got to be the housewife if we are ever in a financial situation that would allow it.  liz just likes to be at home, but i love to clean and grocery shop and mess around outside.  i’m bigger, i think i could take her.
